Packing for the Round-the-World Trip

When Lewis had finally booked his round-the-world trip, he could then start to think about the sort of things that he would need to pack on his journey. Lewis realised what a lucky lion he was. He had time to plan and prepare for his adventure. Lewis knew that some people in the world weren’t so lucky. Some people have to flee their country quickly, not through choice but because of fear of persecution or because of war. They are called refugees and Lewis was sad to read in his guide book that in 2007, according to an important worldwide organisation the UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency), there were as many as 11.4 million refugees in the world. That’s approximately 4 million more people than the population of London! When Lewis thought about all the refugees in the world, he whispered a little prayer to keep them safe and bless them. He also gave thanks to God, his creator for this wonderful and special opportunity that he had to travel of his free will. Lewis knew how privileged he was and how much he had to thank God for.

Following his research, many people suggested that it’s important to travel light by not packing too much but by only taking the essential things. So here are some of the “essential” things that Lewis is going to take with him on his trip.
